Awesome Customer service.. HANDS DOWN!!

I don't usually write reviews online but today I had to May 14th there was a public auction at North Toronto auctions for which I registered online and was bidding on a couple of cars but apparently somehow by mistake I made on a different car which I didn't want to buy upon receiving a confirmation email from North Toronto Auction I went to the location and explain the situation and God directed to Matt who is the owner of the auction I was surprised meeting him at how nice and professionally walls he listened to all my problems and promised to look into that he actually gave me his card with his cell phone and his email address so far I have not received anything back from him yet but the way he assured me that he will look into this and the way he met it was really professional and I'm really happy I will definitely be going back and buy more cars North Toronto Auction thank you much for looking into this for me

The owners are hard to work with

I bought plenty from this auction but when I had a problem for the first time and couldn't buy the second vehicle after purchasing the first they wouldn't send me out my ownership for the first car I paid for then I had to go through all this headache just to get the ownership I paid half for the other vehicle and didn't receive it now I can never go back there because they say I owe them $1000 for a vehicle I did not pay in full for and then they turned around and sold in the next auction for more than what I bidded for it then they had me escorted out of there by OPP very bad place for business they also have no care for a customer relations as long as they get what they want they don't care about you

Thanks for the review Jeff. I'm not really even sure how to respond to this one. We value our customer's very much. That being said like any business, a customer becomes a former customer when we do not get paid for the purchase or in an extreme case when we need law enforcement to remove a person from the premises. Unfortunately, you will need to purchase your next vehicle somewhere else. Matt

Very disappointed in experience with this company.

I was very excited planning to attend my first auction. As a licensed mechanic with 15years experience I have bought and sold many vehicles. This is my single worst experience trying to buy a used car, especially with a company that calls themselves professional in their "beginners guide" video. I very highly recommend not purchasing a vehicle here. I planned to bid on, and hopefully buy - an RV, a BMW or/and ex-police vehicle, and an ex-police motorcycle. I called Tues night to confirm that an RV that was my #1 requirement was there (as I live 2 hrs away) and that I could see it Wednesday morning. When I arrived Wed morning the staff was not helpful trying to locate the vehicle. I was then told that items for auction can change right up to the last minute and there was no apology or concern that I had driven 2 hrs to see a vehicle that was not, and had not been on site (the lot staff confirmed the RV had not been on site in months). I decided to call the owner to share my experience and see what he thought. Then I could make my decision whether or not I would buy the other three vehicles I was very excited to bid on. I left a message with my name and # and received no return call. This is the first online review I have ever written and I hope it is helpful in guiding others not to waste their time with North Toronto Auction. Thank you.

Thank you for the review Nick Z. I apologize that your experience wasn't great on your preview day. This week has been crazy with three consecutive snowstorms, and our team has been working around the clock to offer a great auction this Saturday. I have dug in to your complaint and like many cases, there is always the other side of the story (my grandfather says some times there are three sides to the story!) That being said , I hate when potential bidders leave unhappy. As you can see from the other reviews, I am always willing to discuss auction business with people (its my favourite topic!) and unfortunately I just received your phone message this morning as I was out of town chasing more excellent consignors when you left it. Its unfortunate you took to the internet before we had a chance to speak. Sometimes a good conversation eliminates a ton of misunderstandings. Take care and enjoy the weekend, Matt

Unfair Practice

I am truly disappointed. I seen a vehicle that I wanted to bid on at the last public auction (and I could swear that it was on the auction previous to that). There was no vehicle report available so I took the VIN (2T1BU4EE1DC929392) down to MTO and purchased a UVIP. I left work early on Friday and checked out the vehicle. On Saturday, I connected online and the item was sold. And now it is back on the auction block. The terms clearly state that the owner cannot bid on the vehicle. Did the purchaser not pay $500 before the end of the day nor the entire amount before end of day Tuesday? You seem to be aware of this vehicle because you didn't bother to take new pictures of it. (Having a picture of the car's shadow was the hint) Did I mention that I could swear that this vehicle was in the auction previous to the one I watched? And this one (KMHD35LH8EU181528) was there last week too! Once you have answered my questions, consider a NEW idea! Take down the second last bidders number too. If the first guy screws the deal, call up the second guy and ask him if he still wants the vehicle at the price that he bid. That sounds more fair to me!

Thanks for the feedback Richard. I think you should call me at the auction to discuss the Honda you are talking about and for an overview of how an auction works. The vehicle has never sold, in fact it is in the auction tomorrow! If you are a savvy buyer and take the time to read our sale day booklet, you will see some vehicles have reserve pricing which is kept confidential. This happens to be one of those vehicles. The Dealer consignor pays a premium to add a minimum floor to this unit. I think what best is for you to call me and I can explain how the auction works. I can be reached at 705-436-4111 ext. 224. Auctions aren't for everyone, and maybe after I explain the process, you can decide if they are right for you. One thing we take pride in is our open and transparent process. Unfair we are not. Matt

Ok I guess

I don't believe that the auctioneer tried to sell my car. Rather, they just pushed it through. Then when I went to get my cheque, the value was wrong. I suppose you need to to be selling bigger ticket cars for true value. Kinda thought they thought they were doing me a favour in selling my car.

Hi Gregory. I'm sorry we didn't meet your expectations when selling your vehicle. I don't know all the details in your case but from what I see the vehicle sold for $200 above Canadian Black Book Value. We do appreciate all of our customers, both buyers and sellers, I can guarantee that! If you would like to chat more please feel free to contact me at 705-436-4111 ext. 224. Matt
