Surprise Charges
We reserved a small SUV from Eurocar which is affiliated with Discount Rental. When we went to pick up the vehicle we surprised to learn that we had to buy insurance @ C$24.95 per day! No where, not once during the reservation process online did they mention having to purchase insurance. Normally, our credit card provides insurance for the rental cars. We felt trapped since it was a Canadian Holiday weekend and we were not sure that we could go back to the airport and rent a car from another vendor.
Then, when returning the car, we returned it the day before scheduled and was told over the phone that this would not be a problem and that we would be credited based on the time we returned it. But, when we got there, we were told that since it was passed the time we received the car we would have to pay for the entire 24 hours. No refund!
I do not recommend this rental car company.
