Vehicle had a brake drag noise since day I got it. Sounds like surface rust that you get when vehicle sits for 3-4 days but it is there even after the vehicle sits for 6 to 7 hours, do not this is normal. I was told it was normal. 25000 km on vehicle and was told rear brake rotors and brake shoes were shot and needed replacing due to rust, $450 and no warranty. Brake rotors should last longer. All my other vehicles have lasted 2 years or more and over 50,000 kms without needing brake replacement. Vehicle is 75% highway driving so brakes do not get used excessively and amount of city driving should remove surface rust. I feel the rotor replacement treated the symptom and did not address the root cause, probably inferior quality rotors (I have seen this before). Not happy if I will have to replace my brakes every 10 to 11 months.
