DO NOT PURCHASE FROM TEAM MILTON HONDA

After our Daughter was involved in an accident that resulted in the loss of our car, we purchased a 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe from Team Milton Honda - it was a used car in what looked like excellent condition. It was previously owned by a smoker and we were assured the car would be treated to have the odour removed. I took the day off as we were supposed to pick the car up last Friday, but they called us early that morning to say it still smelled too much of the cleaning chemical and we could come on Monday instead - they gave us a "rental car" for the weekend (which was clearly a mechanics vehicle). We picked the Hyundai up on Monday, March 9th, 2020. When they brought the car out to my Husband, the windows were rolled down (in the middle of winter) - he could detect a slight smell, but trusted they were being honest and it would go away throughout the day. By the time he arrived home he had a horrendous headache. When I entered the car I had to get out as the smell made me sick to my stomach. We put the windows down overnight in hopes the smell would dissipate. The next morning our Daughter drove the car to an interview and was asked during the interview if she was a smoker (she is not) - later that afternoon when she arrived at work, her Manager gave her an air freshener for the car. She is a hostess at a high-end Steak House and the other staff could smell her, and management was worried about what the customers would think. My Husband had no choice but to drive the car for work on Wednesday - he stopped in at the dealership and someone came to see the car. Immediately they admitted the odour was horrible and they would be in touch to have it fixed. They advised he should not be in the car with the windows up. He came home nauseous and with a headache (despite having the windows down). If it were not for Covid19 ravaging the hospitals, he would have gone to the ER as we feel he was suffering the effects of chemical poisoning. He felt "anxious" and "jittery" for 24 hours. We contacted the dealership and asked to speak to the Manager - the person we were put in contact with promised us they would fix this. When we didn't hear back we called again, and were told it wasn't the manager that we were speaking to the first time (despite being transferred to this person.) The person they connected us with has since left the dealership. We wrote to the "Manager" to ask for the MSDS info on the chemicals used to clean the car - but we cannot get ANYONE to respond. We don't even know what chemicals we have been exposed to. The car cannot be driven for more than a few minutes without the passengers becoming ill. We currently own a vehicle that can't be driven - and no one from the dealership has shown any interest in helping us. This isn't a scenario where there is a "simple problem" with the car, that we can get fixed elsewhere - the car is making people sick!!!
