A Job Lay Off is defined differently from a Permanent Job Loss in our policies because layoff situations vary in duration. A Lay Off may last one month or six months, and in some cases, there can be numerous lay off periods in a short period of time. It’s difficult to predict, which is why we have a 90-day waiting period. When you processed a previous claim with us a few years ago under this same policy, it was approved and payment issued within days of filing your proof of claim.
