The knowledge, empathy and a true sense of my concerns from the service department truly made me feel that i had come to the right place.

After a major breakdown on the 401 on a Friday afternoon and being towed back to Ottawa to my longtime mechanic I had all weekend to worry about what was next. On the following Monday he advised me that there was nothing he could do for me and suggested a Hyundai Dealership because certain warranties may still be applicable. With my mechanics recommendation as well as a couple other people I found myself at the Barrhaven Hyundai Service desk speaking with Cora Valois (service consultant). Even though I had NEVER set foot in there before Cora treated me like a longtime and valued customer. Showing me a sincere level of understanding and concern. Early the following day as my vehicle was being towed into the service lot I had the opportunity to speak with Nicola Braitwaite (service advisor). From our conversation I felt that she is very knowledgeable and direct person. She did not promise me the moon, but did not say it was hopeless. A diagnosis was done on my vehicle that day and Cora was in touch with me mid afternoon letting me know what would be done. Thankfully, things were covered by Hyundai warranties. In conclusion I would just like to say that Cora and Nicola were very attentive to my needs and their service department got the job done quickly and efficiently......Needless to say, I will be returning for future service work. Probably the BEST customer service one could possibly hope for.

Taken Advantage

They removed my review from Google - If you are someone who does not know much about cars I STRONGLY advise against getting your car serviced here. I will say that I did have a great experience with purchasing my car - however I was completely scammed by the service department. I went to get my tires changed and stored and walked out with a 2000$ bill worth of maintenance. Let me just point out that my car is not even two years old with around 26,000kms (2022 Kona). Since my car is obviously still very new, I knew for a fact that my car did not need any of this work. (brake service, alignment, hvac, induction service, etc.) However since I paid for an extended warranty, I wanted to make sure that I maintained my car in order for my warranty to be honoured in the future. I asked Matthew, the service manager - do I seriously need to get all of this work done for my warranty? I was told yes. Knowing nothing about cars - how am I supposed to know better when being lied to? I know NOW that the only services required in order to maintain my car for warranty is oil/fluid changes and none of the services that they charged me for falls under that category. I have most definitely learned my lesson, but this service department is definitely not transparent - especially if you are a 21-year-old girl with no knowledge of cars. The dealership has called it a miscommunication, but no one in their right mind would spend that much on a car that is not even two years old. I only spent this money because I was led to believe that I needed to for my warranty. If anything make sure to discuss in detail with their service department, what is recommended versus what is actually required to honour warranties. Very misleading and unfortunately, I fell victim. I’ve been extremely loyal to this dealership for services since I had a great experience when purchasing my car, however I will obviously be going somewhere else for now on.

a very relieved customer

I have a confession to make: I'm not much interested in cars. But when the time finally came a few weeks ago to replace my 2011 Accent, of course I wanted a safe, reasonably-priced vehicle. I badly needed good information -- and lots of it -- to make up for ignoring more than a decade's worth of changes in the industry. It was a steep learning curve, but I was very fortunate in having salesperson Griff Cain to coach me through the process. He is a gifted communicator: helping me through every aspect of the purchase, listening carefully to my priorities, identifying the vehicles that would meet my needs, and explaining what could have been a dizzying info dump of pros and cons with empathy, clarity, and humour. I've already recommended this exceptional salesperson to neighbours and friends and am finally posting this here. Thanks, Griff.

Myers Hyundai Barrhaven for the win!!

After our car barely made it home the other night, we called Roadside Assistance and the next day it was towed to Myers Barrhaven Hyundai. I had emailed Cora to let her know what was happening and to expect the car to be dropped there. The next day David called to give us the good news regarding the fix (and also spoke about some overdue work - no pressure from him, just good information about what was needed, and the costs involved). Shuttle picked us up and later that day we got the car back. Cora was, as always, very welcoming and explained everything that had been done. We have always had such an amazing experience in our dealings with the dealership and will continue to recommend it to our friends and family!!
