Don't buy more then 2 vehicles at any given auction!

Up date to my earlier post below. Did you know that if you buy 2 or more vehicles from auction your going to receive a letter in the mail advising that the Motor Vehicle Dealers Act requires NTA to perform due diligence and ensure that the vehicles are not being sold by unlicensed individuals. You are asked to provide details pertaining to your intended usage of the vehicles to the auction house. Until such time your ability to purchase from the auction is suspended. I had NO idea. I understand it's done in an effort to prevent curb side sales. In my case I like to buy Ex Government vehicles, typically I can get a couple for the price of one 8 year old used Honda. I always thought surpluse Government assets were to be sold by way of public auction to allow us the tax payer the opportunity to purchase them? Is it really the auction houses role to manage what happens with these assets post sale? If my suspicions are correct re government policies to ensure that surplus assets are made available to tax payers. This practice may be in contravention to those policies. Don't get me wrong I understand the intent/spirit of the control however in the case of surpluse Gov assets I think there may be a problem. I also understand that as a private company you can implement your own policies, however again contractually are you within your right to prohibit someone from buying from a public auction? Are you not under contract with Government entities to dispose of their assets by way of public auction? I would really appreciate an opportunity to speak with someone in a position of authority at NTA about this. PS: In my case, I'm not a curb side seller and the process to have my account cleared was not overly ownerouse. The lady I dealt with was responsive and polite.

Hi John Thank you for the review and message. You are somewhat correct in your review and yes unfortunately, we do have to have measures in place to ensure that our non-dealer customers are not purchasing vehicles for the purpose of resale. It is a burden for all those who just love auctions and are trying to buy vehicles and get great deals, but the law is the law and I need to follow it. If you would like to give me a call so I can explain in further detail, please feel free at 705436-411. Matt

Internet Bidding

Very nice people very exciting atmosphere, Will definitely come back and buy more equipment, However internet bidding is too expensive for example if you pay $100 for item you have to pay $50 extra just for bidding online if you buy 10 items that $500 extra no more online bidding for me

Thank you for the review Manny. We do charge the internet fee as there are broadcast charges that we need to cover. I can guarantee we are inline with our competitors fees for this charge. Smaller equipment items do not get charges this nominal fee. Thank-you for the feedback and review.

Very professional staff that work hard to get the best price on our surplus vehicles and equipment

North Toronto have worked hard to make it easy for the disposal of assets. One emailed surplus fleet list to our selling contact starts the process with a call back scheduling pick up times and when these items will be sold. 3-5 days after the sale the cheques are delivered.

Real Lemon

We bought a 2007 Jeep Compass for our daughter in May 2016. There are so many problems with it. The toe links are bad, Transmission pan leeks, engine oil pan leeks, the axle shaft is in poor condition. The front sub-frame broke and the back sub-frame is badly rusted. You cannot see these things and its not in the report. We paid $3000 for it and it will at least another $3000 to fix it. We are really disappointed

Thank you for the review Hezekiah. I do see you purchased a vehicle at the beginning of April. While we do sell all of our vehicles with the full MVDA2002 As Is statement disclosure and you purchased a vehicle with engine declarations, I still wouldn't mind talking to you about your purchase. Please feel free to contact me at 705-436-4111. Thanks, Matt
