The pre-ordering process is a new concept for me, and Cesar at Straightline KIA helped me understand the process so that I was comfortable putting down a deposit on a Sportage PHEV even though pricing and trim levels are not yet released. I look forward to dealing with Cesar as we move through the final ordering and delivery process.
Cesar was very candid about everything including the delivery window for our new vehicle. We knew what we were getting into with the shortages in 2022, and where other dealerships were saying "just a couple of months," Cesar knew the value of setting proper expectations. The price we paid for our Kia Soul was very competitive, and the experience at Straightline was refreshing after dealing with a few cartoonishly stereotypical salespeople elsewhere.
It seemed that I was mislead and given misinformation before and during my transaction. I repeatedly asked about a loaner vehicle as I was first told my new car would arrive end of May and told he would talk with hid general manager. Then after I gave my deposit I was told they don’t do loaners but I could buy a used vehicle and they would purchase it back at full value once my car arrived. Then I had another manager call me and said that is not the case and more likely my new car will arrive more likely mid June. I asked for my deposit back but was told to take the weekend to think about it and see what I could purchase off their used lot for the time being. It was a lot of hassle.
