Unprofessional

Extra work was done to my vehicle without consultation of price or necessity of the work. Then after voicing my displeasure, my only offer from the service dept to have the part removed or pay! Even after they admitted to being in the wrong.

Hi Matthew, sorry for not getting back to you sooner. It appears you had your 2013 Silverado in for an oil change on the 14th of January. At that time, as part of the inspection conducted during the oil change, it was found that your engine air filter was dirty and needed to be replaced in order for your vehicle to run optimally. We suspect your service advisor was unable to get in touch with you when the technician let him know that the filter was needed. It’s a guess he therefore felt that since there was no extra labour charged for this service that you would want this necessary replacement, rather than to have the vehicle taken out of the shop without this simple and very inexpensive, yet very important fix. Many of our customers wish to have their engine air filters, and also cabin air filters, replaced as part of their routine maintenance, i.e., as part of their oil change, if needed. Apparently, this is not so in your case. Therefore, the fairest thing to do if you did not want a clean air filter, was to offer to put the old one back in. Apparently, you chose to not exercise that option, and went with the clean engine air filter instead. I see we did give you a $20.00 discount on the oil change, however. I hope that helps you understand that we are genuinely sorry for any miscommunication. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to give our service department a call. Thank you for your business.
