This was our second purchase from Haldimand Motors because we had spent seven happy years with our previous vehicle. First, we liked the freedom to peruse the lot without any pressure from salespeople. At the same time, staff answered any questions we had when we picked up and dropped off the keys from our five or six test-drives. For example, we weren't sure what PZEV meant on a Subaru we checked out. The salesperson, handing us the keys to the next vehicle, said, "I'm not completely sure, but I'll have the answer for you when you get back." He did. This response was honest, showed a desire to help, but respected our time. Everyone was courteous and helpful. I asked the young gentleman who filled up a gas tank for us to give me his opinion about two car makes. He didn't claim to have the answer, and he clearly stated the limit of his knowledge. He told me what he did know from his own experience. It may seem strange to point out instances where people tell you what they don't know, but that kind of honesty builds more trust than do claims of knowing all the answers. When we were ready to make our purchase, it was handled efficiently. Options were clearly explained (and patiently re-explained as necessary), calculations were shared, and they were prepared to handle any problems with the vehicle, which would be inspected before we took ownership. They were also willing to work with a slightly tighter timeline for having the vehicle ready, as I had to travel the following week. Finally, I LOVE that there is no haggling at Haldimand. Their pricing is transparent, and I feel confident in my purchase.
