Teaching with a passion
Being a mature student, and not having any previous electrical job experience, I was sceptical I’d find work here in NB as an electrical apprentice. Even with good grades and having successfully passed my block 1 exam, I was doubtful. My instructor and the staff at Eastern College succeeded in finding a local electrical company willing to give me a chance for a four weeks work placement with them. My positive attitude, work ethic and maturity combined with what I had learned at Eastern College, worked in my favour. All my hard work finally paid off and they decided to keep me on as a full time apprentice. I’ve been working there since completing the work placement, and it feels great. Thanks especially to my electrical instructor and all his efforts, I’m now working towards completing my license as an electrician.
