Sold Before Auction?

I checked the cars coming up online and seen a Corolla that suited me. I drove up there on Wednesday to check the vehicle out. I register to bid online. Friday, I go online to download the sale catalog and I find that the Corolla I'm "watching" is already sold! Why should I go up there, kill two hours to drive, and check out the vehicles if your not going to sell them?

Thank you for the review Richard A. Vehicles may be pulled from the auction line up for various reasons. There could be paperwork issues such as ownership and outstanding liens which are diligently checked by our staff, mechanical issues, a repossession is redeemed, or simply the consigning customer doesn't want it in the auction anymore for personal reasons which we need to respect. There are not many situations I can think of where we would sell a vehicle prior to an auction. Please feel free to call me with more details of your experience and I can see if I can be of more help at 705-436-4111 ext 224.

Unfair Practice

I am truly disappointed. I seen a vehicle that I wanted to bid on at the last public auction (and I could swear that it was on the auction previous to that). There was no vehicle report available so I took the VIN (2T1BU4EE1DC929392) down to MTO and purchased a UVIP. I left work early on Friday and checked out the vehicle. On Saturday, I connected online and the item was sold. And now it is back on the auction block. The terms clearly state that the owner cannot bid on the vehicle. Did the purchaser not pay $500 before the end of the day nor the entire amount before end of day Tuesday? You seem to be aware of this vehicle because you didn't bother to take new pictures of it. (Having a picture of the car's shadow was the hint) Did I mention that I could swear that this vehicle was in the auction previous to the one I watched? And this one (KMHD35LH8EU181528) was there last week too! Once you have answered my questions, consider a NEW idea! Take down the second last bidders number too. If the first guy screws the deal, call up the second guy and ask him if he still wants the vehicle at the price that he bid. That sounds more fair to me!

Thanks for the feedback Richard. I think you should call me at the auction to discuss the Honda you are talking about and for an overview of how an auction works. The vehicle has never sold, in fact it is in the auction tomorrow! If you are a savvy buyer and take the time to read our sale day booklet, you will see some vehicles have reserve pricing which is kept confidential. This happens to be one of those vehicles. The Dealer consignor pays a premium to add a minimum floor to this unit. I think what best is for you to call me and I can explain how the auction works. I can be reached at 705-436-4111 ext. 224. Auctions aren't for everyone, and maybe after I explain the process, you can decide if they are right for you. One thing we take pride in is our open and transparent process. Unfair we are not. Matt
