I have had 2 springs break on my 09 Tundra and its not covered by my warranty. I disagree with this as it is a health and safety Issue. I have had some other issues as well which I won't get into at this time. I believe sprigs on a truck that break when I rarely tow anything should be covered under the warranty. My 1st spring was close to puncturing my rear tire. I have heard that there may be a chance this will be covered but the dealership still tells me no. When I've heard that the sprigs on a Tacoma are covered. Now I'm in the last year of my warranty which hasn't been good for any repairs I've had to have done.
