Extra warranty not worth it!

I spent $1200 to have bumper to bumper coverage, brought my jeep patriot in for 2 problems and come out with a $185 bill! 1 problem couldn't be fixed because they couldn't replicate the problem, but they still charge you the hourly rate for diagnosing it. And second problem was a silly leak around brake light that they couldn't tell me before hand if it was covered or not by warranty. Turns out that after the fact, it wasn't. So that cost me $110 for a silly fix I could have done myself for $5. That's the last time I get extended warranty and certainly last time I bring my vehicle to Oxford Dodge...

Hi Jennifer, Fortunately, you haven’t had the need to use the extended warranty until now at 96,000km on your vehicle. We do always encourage people to purchase the extra protection for their vehicle, however there is no policy that can cover every potential issue with a vehicle. The cause of the failure needs to be determined first for the advisor to know whether the component is covered by the policy. Until that point, the owner of the vehicle is responsible for the repair until it is determined to be a covered defect. We will review your claim to confirm the coverage and contact you directly. Thank you, Geoff Mannion- Service Manager
