Customer Service Not Good
Hunt Club Hyundai was great to deal with when I bought a used car from them in June 2016, or so it seemed?...
About 1 month later I returned when, after going to Walmart to get new tires (the car came with near end of life tires as was expected for an 'as is' sale) and I was told by Walmart that they could not get the existing tires off because they seemed to be stripped...HCH took the car into the garage and I was told they had no trouble getting off the wheel nuts and that they were all there...I immediately suspected something was wrong when I noticed that 1 nut was missing altogether...Did they even actually take the nuts off or not, I wasn't sure...
I returned to Walmart the next day telling them that HCH had no trouble with nuts so they should be able to proceed with changing the tires...They tried but encountered the same issue that they had encountered the day previously...Furthermore, when I asked what equipment they had and whether it was in good working order I was told that yes it was and that even at 150lbs torque they could not get many of the nuts off...Incidentally the tires are to be torqued to 100lbs according to manufacturer standards...In addition, they said that some nuts were very loose...
So now I take the tires which I bought at Walmart to my mechanic of 30 years to see if he can determine what the issue is...He tells me that many of the tires are over-torqued and others are under-torqued...He clearly confirmed what Walmart had said which made me wonder if HCH had either a) Not even taken the nuts off my car the day earlier or b) Put the nuts back on incorrectly ie. Over and under tightened...Again either way, the problem still existed...
So I had my mechanic proceed with installing the new tires...I was now out $100+ because I essentially had to go to a second place for the install and therefore paid significantly extra in total...
I then approached HCH for reimbursement for the extra $100 since I had wasted time and money as a result of the information I received from HCH...Management at HCH treated me like I was being unreasonable and they did not feel they beared any responsibility for this fiasco...
Bottom line, after originally feeling quite good dealing with HCH when I bought the car, I now do not trust them and would never buy another car from them...The customer service attitude and they way they treated me without, ever trying to come to a mutually agreeable solution, was really quite appalling!
