Warranty Service, Chargeable Service, regular Service Rates
1. Warranty Service - AC Compressor, Rt. Front Shock/Strut - I work out of town and have to take time off work to get car serviced during the week; I advised what the issues were and to ensure that parts were in stock for Warranty service work. Took a day off work, brought car in, waited for 3 hours for a diagnostic, then was advised the parts weren't in stock and they couldn't do the Warranty service work that day. What a waste of my time. Have to reschedule for another work day.
Also, was quoted approx. $75. to refill the Freon, that Murray had emptied during the diagnostic (and didn't tell me). FYI - Focus Hyundai did the Warranty service for the AC compressor on the same day, in about 2 hours total, and didn't even charge me for the Freon refill (included it in the Warranty service).
2. Chargeable service quote (ridiculous rates) - was quoted approx. $500. to replace Rt. front Outer Tie Rod by Murray Hyundai. Got a new Tie Rod installed for $260. Total, incl. Labor at Can. Tire, who did a great job in approx. 1 hour, for 1/2 the price Murray quoted.
3. Murray's regular Service Rates are ridiculously high. Serv. 1 ($100.) w/ Synthetic Oil;
Serv. 2 ($200.) w/ Synthetic Oil; Serv. 3 ($400.) w/ Synthetic Oil.
I have paid these high rates for 4 years; only to discover that Can. Tire will do all the required service items under Serv. 3 for approx. $80., and less for Serv. 1 & 2.
Needless to say, I have been seriously gouged for 4 years by Murray Hyundai, and will not set foot in their place again.
