I have been an O'regan's customer for more than 5 years and a Toyota owner for much longer. One of my last vehicles purchased was a 2015 Highlander. Since taking ownership I have entrusted its maintenance solely to Toyota service. This SUV , less than 3 years old and with less than 45k, has had very little wear and tear. I took it to Toyota more than a year ago to have rust inspected, which both warranty managers approved replacement and have yet to have this work done (on my last visit I was told there is no record of it....)
Most recently, for MVI I was told I needed all new brakes and rotors ( due to metal on metal the rotors need replacement not for MVI). I advised them that 2 of the rotors have been already replaced 1 year prior but again was told they were damaged and they recommended replacement.... So after spending 50k for the SUV, in less than 3 years, rotors have now been replaced twice ( this time due to wear not defect which would of been covered by warranty for 3yr/60k....)
I requested that all removed parts be returned with the vehicle, which I received resistance for, and when I reviewed these parts 2 rotors showed no apparent issue ( * I am not a certified mechanic to diagnose) and the several of the pads were no where near metal
To end it all, I received no notification that my vehicle was ready for pick up and when I called I was told service was closed and to call back tomorrow. I insisted to speak with a manager who was helpful, quickly identifying service was open and I proceeded to pick up my vehicle.
Overall, I very disappointed with both the quality of parts from toyota and the communication/care from the service department in Halifax. I have never had nothing but excellent service at Toyota in Cape Breton.
