Disappointing

Everything was good until I brought the vehicle back. There was a rock chip in the windshield. Fine... These things happen. They then took a $1000 deposit even though I purchased the insurance. I called in to their insurance, made the claim through their insurance... Got a number, called Discount back with the claim number. Haven't heard a thing since, and I haven't gotten my $1000 back yet. What exactly did I buy the insurance for? $1000 for a stone chip?
