Worst experience with a mechanic ever!
I brought my sonata to this dealership originally in October 2019 because my engine was overheating. they diagnosed it was the thermostat and replaced it and charged me for a coolant flush. A week later, i notice this burning smell from the rear left tire, I bring it back in, they tell me it's the parking break that seized, and charge me $600 for it. Over the next few weeks, the smell continues to linger and worse, the engine light goes on. I bring it back in, they tell me "oh it's likely unrelated to your past problems". They grudgingly accept to look at it again, and spend 4 days with the car, this time telling me they have to re-replace the thermostat because apparently the one they put in was defective. They also tell me that they can't find anything wrong with the brakes and there is no smoking smell. One day after I get the car back, the engine starts to overheat again while I am out on a date with my wife. This time I bring the car back in and the service manager starts questioning me about whether I got proper maintenance on the vehicle in the past, trying to lay the blame for their incompetence in fixing my car for me. This time, they hold the car for another 4-5 days and replace some coolant cap. They also "service the breaks". I then bring my car to another mechanic because while all this has been happening, coincidentally, my left front ball bearing and right front axle has also broken and they tried to charge me over $1000 for the repair. The other mechanic tells me he'll charge me $150 for the ball bearing and says that my coolant level was very low which blew me away because the dealership had just been working on that system. Now for the past few months, my car has continued to make a burning smell centered around the rear left tire, the same smell the dealership charged me $600 to fix, calling it a seized parking brake. I will never ever come back to this dealership, they are very dishonest and refuse to take responsibility for their work.
