Doesn’t honour bookings made via central call centre.

I booked a last minute reservation with Discount via the phone as their website doesn’t allow you to book same day bookings. The website had an online promotion where if you pick up and drop off a truck/van on the same day, you get unlimited kms and the rents for $20 plus $20 for insurance, totalling $40 + applicable taxes. I relayed this online promotion to the call centre agent and was told she could honour this over the phone as it was a same day booking. I went to the Discount location on Upper James St in Hamilton to be told that the $20 insurance portion won’t be honoured and there is absolutely nothing they can do except charge me $27. I then asked to speak to a manager to be told that there is no manager and there is absolutely no refund that can be provided. Unfortunately I had to pay the additional cost as I needed a van for the day. I will not be using Discount again, purely for their awful customer service and not sticking to their pricing promise. Daylight robbery.
