disrespectful, dishonest service dont deal with this dealer or with Jendrick

I went in with my mother and a coworker to purchase a tacoma. Jendrick was disrespectful and started speaking with my coworker in tagalog and gathered his information to be entered as a referral without asking our consent. I made the mistake of not shopping around first but felt comfortable with leaving my 1000$ deposit as Jendrick assured me it was refundable upon delivery of vehicle or if i declined the vehicle. In addition I got it all in writing. I returned to the dealer the next day to have them price match a quote given to me by waverly toyota and if unable to I would be taking my business else where. Jendrick kept telling me that there was no way they quoted me correctly and that i just couldnt understand the way the payments were calculated. he eventually rolled his eyes and said I will be back. he came back and forth 2 times with the same message we wont change the price you dont understand we did everything you asked us to do. Jendrick then said you have to call the other dealer and get them to give us all the paper work that matches the price and then we will possibly change the purchase price, but there is no way they came up with that figure. I explained it was them who had to call but and that point I requested my deposit and did not want to give them my business. Eventually he brought another worker who did not identify himself or his name (older man) who came and was extremely rude stating "they had got me approved for financing and the 1000$ was not refundable" . I explained my approval was based on my good credit and it was in writing that the deposit was refundable. in turn he responded with well if that is how you want to interpret it, but we will not refund you 1000. I explained and pointed out word for word what was written and that if they did not return my deposit i knew they had a legal obligation to return it. in return he responded by stating "i will not start a war with you and if thats the avenue you want to take, we still wont refund the deposit, because what we meant was it was refundable upon decline of financing." I again pointed out the terms signed stated refundable upon delivery or declined ( as in declined by customer) At that moment he realized I was correct in saying it was refundable and stated "going forward we are going to make sure that we write decline in financing be included and the bigger dealers will always win, of course they can provid a better price but im not going to get into a price war with you". During the entire conversation with the older man Jendrick was standing behind him rolling his eyes and did not acknowledge me when I spoke to him as I told him you know the terms written and what you told me meant the deposit was refundable. There happened to be another family there looking at a vehicle and were overhearing the conversation as the older man was loud and rude, eventually he noticed the attention and went to his manager who reviewed the terms and right away some him nodding after about 40 mins of rude disrespectful customer service the older man walked me to the terminal extremely mad and they refunded me my deposit. i write this review hoping to help out any other potential buyers - this was my experience with mcphillips toyota and Jendrick purchasing a 60000$ vehicle - if they can treat me like this they will do the same to you if not more especially if its a car worth 1/2 the price. get several qoutes from dealers before you sign anything, bigger ones are better and always get in writing your deposit is refundable and be specific ***
