Bank St. Hyundai
I just had the greatest experience buying a 2019 Kona. After shopping around my son suggested that I go to Bank St. Hyundai. Both he and my daughter had bought their last vehicles there and both had a very good experience. They are professional, ready to deal and they bend over backwards to make the whole process easy. Thank you to my Salesman Alexander, to the Finance Manager, Christoph and the General Manager Eli for a great deal and a great experience. I am loving my Kona!

Buyer Beware
Well, please be aware of your deals being made at Bank Street Hyundai. Make sure ALL info and last minute verbal deals with your sales person are CLEARLY noted.
Why? Well, the dealer, Bank Street Hyundai, who was SO EAGER to make the sale, forgot to write down on the work order the transfer of our rust modulator. Now, some 2.5 years later, the rust modulator was confirmed as the source of the power drain by another Hyundai dealership. We had to replace the original battery, and buy a new rust modulator.
This is where the story began to go sideways.
The Hyundai dealership who found the rust modulator was the problem told us since they didn’t originally install it, they could not provide any compensation. They also confirmed, by calling the rust modulator manufacturer, that the modulator was still registered to the older vehicle, and thus the warranty had not been transferred by the previous dealership. So they told us to contact the dealership (Bank Street Hyundai) where it had been installed for any possible compensation.
After calling and speaking with the Service Manager and the General Manager at Bank St. Hyundai, I was told since the modulator transfer was not written down on the sales slip, or the work order at Bank Street Hyundai, there wasn’t any warranty available. They also stated that there is no way to prove that they installed it on the new vehicle. They went on to say that since they didn’t diagnose the problem, and since we had not returned to their dealership service since the car was purchased, they weren’t willing to provide any form of compensation.
One last twist, our sales person has since left Bank Street Hyundai and is not available to confirm that we/he added the installation of the rust modulator at the point of purchase. But, he did open the hood and point it out to us amongst his checklist when we picked up the new vehicle.
We have learned a lot from this situation.
1- I am not a mechanic.... so how can I install this rust proof modulator?
2- at that time of sale and upgrade of our vehicle this was agreed upon with our sales Representative and how can I control what is noted on the sales bill / work order?
3- It was a Hyundai Dealership that diagnosed the issue
4- ALL service time has to be logged.... so where did this fall through the cracks, not sure I as the consumer do not have control on this.
5- as per manufactures warranty one is not required to return to a specific dealership for maintenance just as long as it is completed
6- Was not even looking for the full amount just a portion.......but nope all doors closed off as it was NOT written on the sales slip.
7- no help from the consumer resource center at all.
In short the lack of customer service and consideration just blows my mind. They were quick to make the sale and get our money but NOT so quick in helping when a problem arose and proof of the issue and very quick to pass the buck that should have stopped with them !
Will NEVER return to BANK ST HYUNDAI EVER again........ and let’s be clear we are not talking thousands of dollars..... in total $700 (just short) and was only hoping
