Excellent dealing with salesmen but not so great with financing

Actual experience in dealing with the car salesmen was a great experience. Finance portion - next time I will finance with my bank or finance but only agree to purchase a car where part of the agreement is no other 'options' being sold to me.

You would think the authorized dealer of a Honda would know about that Honda

My brand new 2016 Honda Civic when in for an oil change and to have my Eco light turned on this process took over 5 hours when I took my car home I noticed the oil change life was not even reset this is poor customer service and I pay for service I expect 100% of that service to be carried out

Okay service

Went for my first oil change today. Came to Honda to get it done versus my mechanic shop due to the free car wash included with the service. I had a doctor's appointment an hour and half later. They managed to get my car back to me in under an hour. Unfortunately when I got my car back there was bird poop all over my hood. The rest of the car was wet so it must have been washed. The car should have been checked before being returned to me. Next time, I will just go to my mechanic shop and then wash it myself.

Inspection Fail

Bought a used car from Sherwood Honda a few weeks ago. Never used them before and always went to Derrick Dodge - At first I was pleased but then almost immediately began having AC issues. Then the engine started overheating. Now my trusted family mechanic says that the Power supply block for the engine fan is burned out, will need a control unit and possible new radiation fan motor. That is even before we touch the radiator fluid and the recharge the Freon. Bill may be well over $1,000. So as far as I can tell, the options are that either Sherwood Honda's mechanics lied about their inspection or they are incompetent. Sherwood Honda suggested I bring it in and have their mechanics look at it....the same bunch that missed this stuff the first time? No thanks. Not too happy. I would suggest that anyone looking for cars...just keep looking.

Over tightened the oil filter on my 2005 Honda Accord

I purchased a 2005 Honda Accord EX-L via in house financing from Sherwood Honda on Nov. 11, 2015. They attempted to contact me within a month or two of my purchase to have regular maintenance completed on the vehicle. It was my understanding from the work done on the vehicle shortly after it was traded in that regular maintenance had been performed already to the tune of $1031.54 then it sat on their lot for 2 months. Indeed I have an invoice for a “world class multi point inspection” as it is requested in order for it to be sold as a used car on their lot. It included driver and passenger air bag recalls which I’m not sure why they wouldn’t have completed for the previous owner whom had possession of the vehicle for ten years since it was new. They also replaced the rear brake shoes and needed to machine the rear drums likely due to the previous owner not performing regular maintenance on the rear brakes in a timely fashion. They replaced the wiper blades and the left rear door wiring harness. They needed to drill the license plate holder screws out and tap new holes. They also did an oil and oil filter change. This is where things get a little weird. They say they use a 14 mm washer on the drain plug during the oil change. I have been changing the oil in my cars for several years and I’m no mechanic. I didn’t find any washer on the drain plug at all. The worst part was that I couldn’t get the filter off for a couple of days. It had been over tightened by a gorilla maybe. There is no socket end on the filter so it wasn’t done using a socket wrench. Someone went to the effort to over tighten the filter so much that I would be required to bring my car back to them (or another shop) to have them change the oil which didn’t happen. I bought several tools used to remove oil filters over the course of those days and had 5 different men including myself struggle to try and remove the filter. Finally one of my roommates that lives in the gym, returned home from working in Ft. Mac and he was able to remove the filter with some serious effort using a tool which crushed the filter to the point of it leaking oil on him. I was pretty happy he was able to get it off so I could complete the oil change myself. I was at the point where I was thinking of driving the car back to Sherwood Honda with no oil in it at all and leaving it there. After this issue when I was contacted again to schedule service for my vehicle I asked Jennifer Davis the Service Appointment Coordinator at Sherwood Honda why I would bring my car to them for any service if their mechanics can’t even do a simple oil change properly. She offered no explanation as to why there was no crush washer and why the oil filter was so hard to remove. She just stated that she will no longer contact me regarding service for my vehicle. It seems like she felt that she wouldn’t be able to get the regular service repair bills in large amounts of money paid from me and left me to look after my own maintenance on the car I purchased from them. Not exactly what I would expect from the company who says “Sher wood love to be your PERFECT 10”. I am however still wondering why one of my cigarette lighters doesn’t work and why my driver’s side door is always closing on me even when I`m parked on flat ground. Those two things don’t bother me nearly as much as how they handled the oil change situation when I asked about it. I will not be taking my car there for maintenance unless they try to correct the situation with some old fashioned customer service. What’s “customer service” to Sherwood Honda? Or am I asking the wrong dealership?
