I felt that the sales manager didn't care whether or not he sold me a car

While I had a positive experience with the salesperson with whom I dealt, I felt that the sales manager didn't care whether or not I bought a car. In addition I didn't feel that the sales manager dealt with me in a fair manner both with the value of my trade in and the cost of my new vehicle.

Disappointing new car experience

I received my Golf R on Aug 31st. Colin was great to deal with. Unfortunately the first time I washed it, on Sept 01, I noticed it had swirls all over it. It had been given a horrible buff job. I was not sure if that was the norm. As such I went to Montreal to visit friends and get my windows tinted. On Sept 10 while getting my windows tinted I noticed a flax in the paint on my hood. I emailed Mitch to ask what we can do to remedy this. On Sept12 I called Colon to advise him of the flaw. Colin was very helpful and advised me that I could get warranty work done at a dealer closer to my house if that worked better for me. I took him up on the offer and went to Oakville VW. The advisor say the flaw and added that the buff job was horrible and that I should bring the car back to Orilia for them to take care of. He mentioned that all the swirls could be taken out by someone who knew what they were doing. He also showed me his new cars that had no swirls. He stated that the condition of my paint was not normal and that I deserve a perfect Golf, especially since I bought the cream of the crop; a Golf R. I advised Colon that id be coming up on on Sept 15. On Sept 15 I met up with the warranty lady at Orilia VW who took a look at the hood and advised that she saw the flaw. I mentioned the swirls and she confirmed that it looked bad. Additionally she took paint thickness measurements and they were inconsistent on the hood and throughout the whole car! She also mentioned that the whole car had a wave in the paint, a short of orange peel effect consistent with repainted cars. I noticed that the passenger fender was not well lined up with the hood as well. Colin joined us and I showed him the flaw in the paint and the swirls, I expressed my feelings about how much I paid for the car and wanted it to be perfect. Colin agreed with me that the hood needed work and that the biff job was not up to par. I pointed out the orange peel effect of the paint and the fender not being lined up as well. He called the body shop and we made an appointment for me on Sept 19. I dropped off the Golf R on Sept 19. Mitch and I went to the shop and spoke to the shop manager. I showed him the flaw on the hood, the swirls and the fender. I figured the peel effect was a lost cause. The shop manager said he would see what he could do. Mitch was great and set me up with a Golf TDI wagon as a loaner car. I was supposed to pick up the car on Saturday Sept 24. I received a call on Tuesday Sept 20 from Colin advising that the flaw had been removed, but wanted to know if I'd like the two stone chips touched up, wet sanded and clear coated or if I'd like to have the hood repainted. I said I'd rather not have the hood repainted. I asked for his advice, Colin agreed that he would touch up the stone chips and have them wet sanded and clear coated if it were his car, and that I would not be able to notice the chips afterwords. I went with that option. On Friday Sept 23 I called Orilia VW to see who the car was coming. Mitch advised me that the hood looked great, it was buffed as well, the roof had been buffed and they were working on the driver side. He said the fender looked good as well. He said he'd call me Saturday morning to confirm it is ready for pick up. Saturday Sept 24, Colin called me at about 0930 and advised me that the hood's stone chips did not turn out great. Otherwise it was ready to go. He offered the option of leaving it until Monday for the shop to work on the hood. I agreed to that. On Monday Sept 26 I called Colin before going up to Orilia. Colin advised that he would like to repaint the hood as it did not look perfect. I raised a concern regarding warranty down the road as all VWs have a 12 year corrosion warranty if the panel was never painted. Colin assured me that this was not an issue as it was warranty work being done and that all the work was documented. I agreed to have the hood repainted. I picked up the car on Wednesday Sept 28. It looked pretty good. It was hard to see if all the swirls were gone as it was cloudy. And since I've had it back I haven't been on the outside of the car while it was sunny. So I cannot confirm it is perfect. The flaw looked to be taken car of. The fender was not perfect, but was better. I drove off. Half way home the sun came out and immediately I noticed clear coat over spray across my whole windshield. Extremely disappointing and upsetting. I emailed Colin about it when I got home, including a picture. This is were we stand to date. I'd like to re-iterate that Colin was great to deal with throughout the process, professional and guinuely cared. All the same my new car buying experience has been extremely frustrating and disappointing. It does not feel like a new car that I paid $45,000 for.

Amazing Vehicle, Horrible Customer Service

I was very excited to purchase my first vehicle, but the overall service I received at Orillia Volkswagen was more than disappointing. Up until the point I signed my Bill of Sale everything was wonderful, and I felt really happy about my purchase. However, once I signed the paper work everything changed. I wish someone would have spent more time with me going over the particulars that are necessary when purchasing a first time vehicle. There was no check list provided to me, and I felt lost and alone throughout the entire process. My character and integrity was questioned, and I felt like nothing more than a fiscal entity. I was made to feel like a liar, and was personally offended by how I was treated. The terms of my contract changed several times because of oversights by the person selling me my car. Thankfully, I really love the Golf TSI that I purchased, and it is everything I wanted in a vehicle. I will definitely be purchasing another Volkswagen in the future, but it will never be at the Orillia VW dealership.
