Very misleading

I rented a van this past weekend. I was told by the rep that my insurance coverage does not cover rental vans so I was forced to purchase discounts waiver. After my credit card was billed, when I was taken outside and showed the van, I was only then told there was a $1000 deductable for damage. Very misleading. Next time I will rent from another company
