Discount Car and Truck Rentals...

I was not picked up on time even though I have confirmed the pick up the day before. The car that I had reserved was not available that day. When I got to the branch after an hour of waiting to be picked up I was told then that the car that I had reserved was available after all. The car that I got was dirty. I was charged the wrong amount. So disappointed.

I received a confirmation email one day prior to my reservation. I showed up to the location at the time it was reserved for (8am). There was no truck OR STAFF working at that location. The opening hours showed that it was actually closed on saturdays. I was livid. I called customer support and they said there was nothing they could do. They said 2 weeks prior they had changed their opening hours, but NO ONE thought it might be a good idea to let me know. Note that I booked my truck over a month before my move. My friend had to beg her boss to find us a truck. Fortunately, my wife called another location and by miracle there was a truck available - but was a 40 mins drive from my place. Thanks to Ken, the manager from the Bank/Heron location. He was extremely helpful and professional. I will never book with Discount again.

We booked a car to be picked up from the Ottawa train station but there was no car available when we arrived. We had to wait for someone from the Bank Street office come, pick us up, take us there, and check out from that location. We then had to return the car to that location and get a staff member to take us to the train station. The staff were great, but I had very much wanted the convenience of picking up and dropping the car at the station.

Booked one way trip months ago, took almost 2 hours to get vehicle from another location Fortunately we had a copy of our reservation as told they were not doing one way trips at this time. Nervous time wondering how we were going to get everyone to peterborough if this had fallen through., thankfully they realized their mistake and worked at correcting it

We arrived at the VIA Rail station in Ottawa and called up on the video link for the car - but the whole process was slow (we ordered a compact car and all they had was a huge minivan)... we eventually had to be collected and taken to a local Discount outlet, and there we had to use an SUV (much bigger than we wanted) and the whole process from arriving at the station to driving away took nearly two hours - a crazy amount of time to collect a car rental. Things were better on returning, and we got a complimentary ride to where we needed to be from the pleasant agent on duty. Overall, though, not the best of experiences and something that had lots of room for improvement!
