Kudos to Melissa Casselman!

Thank you to Service Advisor Melissa Casselman for her assistance during a recent service appointment on my Santa Fe. I have been a regular customer of the Myers Barrhaven Hyundai Service Department following the closure of the Bells Corners dealership where I purchased my vehicle. Melissa is very customer focused in her work. Her recommendations, advice and timely follow through are all well appreciated. She is an asset to the Service Department Team. My thanks as well to Brian for his prompt shuttle service home and return for vehicle pick up during a wintery day. Appreciation to Melissa and Brian for a positive customer experience!

Excellent service from Marco Dominique, for taking the time to explain things clearly to me.

Marco took the time to ensure any missed Recommend Maintenance Scheduling would be taken care of today. He even called my husband to go over everything with him. Marco is such a patient and caring Service Advisor. I would definitely recommend him to our friends and family!!

Questionable measurements done on brake pads

I took my 2017 Hyundai Tucson in for an oil and filter change today. Service advisor recommended doing Maintenance Service #3, I accepted as it is almost winter and would hate to be stranded on the side of the road for something that could've been prevfented, so I accepted and went ahead with this service. About an hour in the service advisor came up to me and informed me that the technician measured 2mm left on each of my brake pads (front and rear) and recommended getting them changed as "this is where the Ministry of Transportation would be concerned". My brakes were last serviced in the spring, they were evaluated to be around half (if not a hair more) used and did not warrant changing. Since COVID, I have been working from home and have done next to no driving besides the weekly drives to give the car a good run and keep things "flowing". I was surprised to hear that my brakes were 2mm or lower AND the squealer bars hadn't started going off yet. I declined the brake job and took my car home and popped all 4 tires off and checked the brake pads myself. I was shocked to see that my brake pads ALL had between 4-6mm left, even though the technician marked all pads were down to 2mm. How were these measured? I would also have expected the calipers and brake pads to be relatively easy and "clean" when I took them off to inspect myself, except I was riddled with rust and debris...not what you would expect IF all of your brakes were just serviced/inspected. There are some questionable discrepancies here. I am not pointing the finger at anyone, however I would like to know how these measurements were taken, because we clearly have 2 different measurements going on, and having physically SEEN my pads and the measurements done by myself, they do not match what was written and documented on my paperwork. Overall, this service today cost me $189.12 for the oil change and Maintenance Service #3. I am left wondering what else on the report is inaccurate, and what my $189 actually covered? I have not called or spoken with anyone from the dealership yet, but I am quite disappointed to say the least. I have opted to have my vehicle serviced at this dealership as this was the dealership that sold me the vehicle in 2017 AND I had put a lot of faith in Hyundai Canada where these types of discrepancies would not exist. I look forward to speaking with the service manager in the near future, because I feel extremely let down and disappointed in the experience today. Almost 4 years of servicing my vehicle with this dealership, and now I am wondering if it is time to start looking elsewhere. You should be able to trust your auto mechanic, I have a hard time giving this experience the 2-star rating, however I am because at least the interactions I had with the employees were polite. Definitely need some answers though...

2021 Palisade

We had a great experience with Myers Hyundai. Started with meeting the GM, Mustafa who wanted to better understand what our requirements were. He then introduced us to one of his senior sales staff, Dan Anis. From that moment, Dan took the time to ensure the vehicles we were look at would fit our needs explaining the different trim levels. Took a Santa Fe and Palisade for a test drive and we were impressed with both vehicles. Once we got back to the dealership, there was no pressure to sit at his desk to "close" the deal. We gave him our feedback, asked for pricing and he said he would follow up the following day. Dan promptly provided pricing which we were very happy with and we bought the car. The follow up step was with Sam Mousada the finance manager - got us set up with our financing, explained all the after sales options and benefits - again no pressure but after taking the advice of friends who are independent mechanics, went with Sam's suggestions. Overall we had a great experience and can only hope that the Service Department will provide the same comfort level. I would highly recommend buying or leasing a car with Myers Barrhaven Hyundai. Ask for Dan!
