One of the best vehicle purchase experiences I've ever had!
When I started shopping for my Canyon, just stepping inside the first dealership I went to gave me second thoughts about doing this car-buying saga all again, as I generally find dealerships an exhausting experience, with exception to very few: Laird being one of them now. My trip over to Nanaimo was one admittedly out of desperation, as I sold my vehicle in preparation for a factory order I made, to arrive at another dealer. Thanks to the semiconductor shortage, it was looking like I might have been out of a vehicle for most of the summer. I found a truck online that was VERY close to what I'd ordered, and in a long shot, called to find out if they'd do a deal with my GM Preferred pricing on a lot vehicle (the previous dealer wouldn't, citing supply, which was fair) To my astonishment, they were willing, and after a very easy interaction with Scott over the phone the day prior, I hopped on a ferry and- no word of a lie, had plates on and was on my way in a touch over an hour. Every staff member I interacted with, including Scott and Codie, were helpful, friendly and I felt like they were genuinely interested in helping me (and showed my dog lots of love, too) , also knowing how to read their customer and not laying anything on too thick. No shade on the dealer I was dealing with before, as my salesman was terrific there, too, but it was absolutely worth the visit to the island. If my dad ever tires of his Wrangler and ends up wanting to back to GM, I'll be sending him here for a ZR2. Thanks all; you were great!

All went good - think we both were happy at the end.
Also happy with Kristine who looked after the paperwork. I have a couple things that need attention when I come back for oil change.

Purchased a used vehicle.

they deserve ZERO STARS. Scam artists IMO. WILL BRUSH YOU OFF AND THE STAFF WILL LAUGH AT YOU.
I am more than disappointed with service from Laird Wheaton in Nanaimo. I would never ever recommend this dealership to anyone.
I was extremely excited when purchasing my 2019 Colorado, brand new from the dealership. The person who sold the vehicle to me was actually awesome and very friendly, name was Chad and he worked hard to get the vehicle to the right price for me, however it is everything that has come up since purchasing the vehicle that they have been absolutely horrible with.
First off, my brand new truck, had the wrong transmission fluid in it. This was probably the scariest thing that I have ever experienced because when you drove it down the highway it shook so uncontrollably that it felt like it was going to bounce right off of the road. I brought it into the dealership, they told me this is a common issue? Umm THIS SHOULD BE FIXED BEFORE BEING SOLD. Anyways, booked my appointment, explained to them i did not feel safe driving this truck and I would like a loaner vehicle until it is fixed. They said no problem. I took the loaner vehicle (toyota tacoma!!!) had it for 2 hours, they phoned me, the lady on the phone her name was Sheila - and she is so rude. She tells me to bring the loaner vehicle back because they cant get my parts in for a week, i explained i am not driving that truck in the condition it is in it is UNSAFE, she said that's fine but you will be expected to pay for the loaner vehicle then.
I spoke to the manager who said that I could keep the vehicle for no charge but it should have never been a big issue in the first place.
I have now brought my truck in at least 4 more times for small electrical issues, such as:
-the radio will randomly go to FULL BLAST for about 2 seconds and then go back to the volume i had it set at
-sometimes the E-brake light (the red exclamation mark thing) doesn't come on my screen when i have my E-brake on
-my touch screen will completely die
-my touch screen is always freezing and getting stuck on the last song or whatever it was showing.
every time i bring it in i get the same answer "oh you need to bring this in when the problem is occurring otherwise we cannot diagnose the issue"
1. How am I supposed to bring this in when the problem only lasts for 2 seconds, or when i am driving to work, or when it happens on a sunday, or when it happens after 5 pm.
Seriously I am so fed up.
And the absolute rude people that you have answering the phones do not help. they basically laugh at you when you tell them what is going on and have responses like "trust me I have to listen to people complain all day", umm not professional at all.
I was told when I purchased my vehicle I got 2 years of free oil changes. Now all of a sudden I am getting told it's only a maximum of 4 oil changes? that doesn't even make sense?
The average person drives 20,000 KM per year, that would be 4 oil changes in one year based on getting one every 5,000 KM. So how is it fair to advertise 2 years of free oil changes and then only allow 4 within the two years? Doesn't seem right and that is also false advertising also in my words considered LYING.
I called tonight at 528 pm to ask if the soonest appointment for an oil change was really Sept 29th as that seems very far away, the lady responded with "maybe I could have answered this if you phoned when the service department was actually open, call back at 8 am" I said, "you arent able to look into their appointments?" she says "hahah nope. like I just said, I dont have access to that on my computer have a nice night" AND HANGS UP. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS DEALERSHIP????
I AM WARNING ALL OF YOU DO NOT BUY A VEHICLE FROM HERE. THEY ARE SCAM ARTISTS AND IF YOU GET A LEMON IT WILL NEVER BE FIXED! STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!
