Through encouragement, passion and a commitment to grow people into leaders that make a difference, in our community and beyond. Jeanette was born and raised in Brantford and studied Hairstyling and Aesthetics at the Allanti School of Hair Design. She went on to have a wide-ranging career, in making the outward vision of individuals, sparkle for the world to see. Through encouragement from friends and family, she went on to attend Clarke College for Business Administration and Computer Studies in 1999. In 2002, at the request of a colleague, she joined the team at Westervelt College, in the Administration department. Through this collaboration, Jeanette found her passion for growing others and helping them to light their internal flame, shinning it, for all to see. For the last 16 years, with the assistance of her spouse, she has also run a successful logistics company. Her vision is simple; teach others how to light their torch and pass it on; this is how you change your community and then the world.
Westervelt was the quickest and easiest way to swap careers, and enter this new one at the next level.
I had heard great feedback from past students of Westervelt (formerly Medix), but was still uncertain about how the college would suit my needs. Right from the beginning, I was offered a bunch of information about the programs that I was interested in. I was encouraged to ask questions and visit the campus which helped me to filter through my options and pick the best program for me. With the continual education, you are forced to learn a lot of it on your own, but you always have others in the class as well as your instructor for support.
The school has a mandatory externship program that allows you to further develop your skills before you're out there on your own, plus they offer extra classes at a discounted price for anyone (past or present student) wanting to learn something on the side (ex, wound care, intramuscular injections. intro to ECG). I'm glad to know that I'm half way done my externship and the path to what's next is becoming more clear.
Overall I've had a very positive experience at the Brantford Campus and would strongly recommend anyone who wants to take a new career path to visit the campus and see what they have to offer.

Westervelt gave me the tools and the knowledge and most importantly the confidence to do something that I've always been passionate about. The instructors are committed to helping you succeed! Westervelt gave me a chance at a better life for me and mine.

My experience was worth every second, it was difficult at times but the teachers are extremely helpful
I attended Westervelt college for the MOA program, I was lucky enough to have a class that had access to computers all day long which is amazing for us in training. Westervelt also found an office who was willing to allow me to do my externship and I have been offered a job with them. Overall Westervelt gave me the training necessary to obtain a job immediately after I finish. I’m very greatful and appreciate all the support from every single staff member at the Brantford campus.

Pragmatic approaches coupled with enriching authenticity. Not only was I given all the tools necessary for a CSW, but the encouragement to focus on my preferred specificity of the field as I studied! Perfect place to start new career aspirations!
