My car was scratched, service manager was rude and did not address my concerns.

My vehicle was in for warrantee work. It took more than 12 days to get the job done. I was left with one rental that did not have bluetooth, then another which was a gas guzzler, despite my asking for a sedan. After the vehicle was ready, and I paid for brakes, there were a series of scratches on the vehicle. Someone had washed it, but after sitting on the lot where there was construction, there were a ton of particles dragged across my finish, scratching severely in some areas. When I asked the manager to address this he denied that it was possible. Then became hostile with me and shouted "What do you want me to do about it today?". I left. He offered that I could get the vehicle repaired at the Bank St. Location, but hasn't returned my messages asking when I should take it there. There's no way I could recommend this store to anyone. I won't be using it myself ever again.

Purchase of Mazda 3 Sport 2010

I purchased a used Mazda 3 Sport at the Barrhaven Mazda. Lack of communication I would say is the biggest problem. I was initially told by the salesperson that the small dents in the front of the vehicle would be fixed by the time I picked up the car. When I did pick it up he said that's not possible with a used vehicle and didn't the manager speak to me. I expressed my concerns and the manager stepped in an indicated that I could bring in the car to have it fixed. I brought the car in on a Thursday and waited for 30 minutes for the shuttle - no shuttle was available so one of the workers gave me a lift. When I brought the car in - the service person noticed that the fog light had an issue and said it would be fixed as well. When I picked up the car I was advised the part was not available and would have to be ordered. Ok - part was supposed to be in by the following Monday, now it's Wednesday aft. and no followup. Have left a message as service didn't pick up. Also I had put a $1,000 deposit down which I received back a couple of weeks later minus the plate renewal charge. No breakdown on the receipt so I called the Accounting Dept. and left messages with Marion (Maryanne sp.?) twice over a period of a week - no reply. When I called again they transferred me to a different person who said they are not allowed to speak to customers and I should go through my manager. Well, surely someone could have referred my messages. I was transfered to someone names Lee who advised what the breakdown was. All in all not a big deal - things have been resolved for the most part but I feel the whole process could have run smoother.

I highly recommend Barrhaven Mazda!

My car was towed to Barrhaven Mazda because I was hearing a loud scraping/screeching sound in my driver's side front wheel. The dealership was closed so they looked at my car the next day. It turned out I had a rock between the rotor and the backplate. The service department removed the rock at no charge to me!! Unbelievable service! Such a kind gesture! I would definitely recommend this dealership to anyone looking for professional and personal service!

It was one of the best experiences that I have had in purchasing a car.

Our salesman, Max Hickson, was excellent. He answered all of my questions, took me on a number of test drives, and dealt very honestly with me when negotiating the sale. The buying process went very quickly and to my total satisfaction. All in all, it was a great experience and I would certainly buy a future car from Max and the rest of the Barrhaven Mazda team.

Barrhaven Mazda seemed to be understaffed, or simply lacking in experience as a car service centre.

- I did not receive an update on my service by the time I was told; I had to call several hours later to get an update. - They were having trouble diagnosing an issue that cropped up during the service visit. - I had a lot of difficulty getting through by phone to the service department. - The hours on the website are not accurate. - They needed to keep my car for almost three days before figuring out that there was a seized bearing which needs to be replaced. - They had neither the part, nor the tools to replace it at the time; It's been three weeks and I haven't heard from them. There were some positives: - A complimentary car rental was arranged once it became necessary to keep my car overnight. - The total billed was not much more than I expected to pay. - The service advisor was positive and as helpful as he could be.
